6.2.2008: American Coatings Show Best Paper Award for James W. Rawlins
Dr. James W. Rawlins with the first-ever American Coatings Award for his collaborative paper entitled, “Letting Mother Nature Tackle the Dirty Work: The Future of Coatings Additives.”

 

Yvette 6.2008: 2008 Research Presentation Award
Yvette Abadie presented “Vegetable Oil Macromonomer-Based Latexes and Waterborne Industrial Coatings” at the Mississippi Academy of Sciences in Olive Branch, MS and at the Undergraduate Research Conference at The University of Memphis in Memphis, TN where she won the 2008 Research Presentation Award.

 

James Whittemore5.27.2008: James Whittemore Recongized for Business Venture Southern Miss students took the top three places in the student division of the Mississippi Technology Alliance Business Plan Competition. Whittemore was awarded third place for his alternative energy company, GreenLight Materials Inc, which enables printed electronics producers to enter the solar-powered consumer portable device market.

Michael Audiss, a high-school student mentored by Thames-Rawlins Research Group, received nominations from Sen. Thad Cochran, Rep. Gene Taylor, (Retired) Sen. Trent Lott and President George W. Bush to the Air Force Academy.
